Knobbly 2.25” tyres, a robust aluminium frame, easy actuation brakes and Ritchey finishing kit. Meet Big Foot, serving 2-4 year olds their first taste of MTB. Built for paths, tracks, moss and mud.

Meet the Big Foot

Built with a lightweight 6061 aluminium frame, knobbly 2.25" tires, and light pull Tektro brakes, Big Foot is designed for adventure out of the box. A comfortable, finely tuned geometry promotes safety, confidence, and progression while high-grade rims, hubs, and tyres ensure smooth rides and grip in all conditions. Thoughtful design emphasises sustainability, longevity, and performance, making it a durable, eco-friendly choice that inspires many kids to ride for years to come.

Progression from the first push off

Even for a balance bike, even for a toddler. Because a finely tuned geometry is the difference between a lifetime of riding or a balance bike they can’t be bothered with.

Good geometry, the stuff we obsess over, means safety, confidence, progress and, of course, fun. It's a science and an art, and something we have dialled in over 18 years of pioneering kids bike design.

Lightweight aluminium, beautifully crafted

The Big Foot is handcrafted from 6061 grade aluminium. And it's not just the parts you can see, we swap more steel and plastic for aluminium than anyone else.

Aluminium has one of the highest strength-to-weight ratios of any metals. It's corrosion resistant and has a flexibility that makes it a pleasure to ride. It's also 100% recyclable. All of which makes our Big Foot and Charger models the best for your kids and for all those they're handed down to.

Roll model

The Big Foot specs market leading aluminium rims and hubs to save weight and high ABEC grade sealed cartridge bearings to minimise weight and rolling resistance.

By specifying such high grade wheel sets, we are able to justify investing weight in tyres that provide the safety and performance that make all the difference, without handing them a weight penalty.

Tread carefully

The Big Foot features 2.25" wide tires, the same width we spec our big kid bikes with. This added stability really helps little kids learn with ease. The added space allows us to pump in more air, smoothing out rooty rocky trails for a smoother ride. The chunky, knobbly tyres offer extra grip in wet, muddy conditions. All of this means more control, more confidence and more progression no matter the terrain.

We're control freaks

The Big Foot runs anatomically designed Ritchey bar and stem, with a powerful, light pull Tektro rear brake with a short reach lever, to give maximum confidence in the controls.

Controls are a matter of trust. Ritchey Logic have been at the forefront of component design for the past 50 years. Tom Ritchey, it's indefatigable president and lead designer, is one of the pioneers credited with the invent of mountain biking, amongst other innovations. We have collaborated for over 10 years, producing the best kids specific components to elevate our bikes.

Sustain-Ability™

Taking materials out of the ground to make bikes isn't sustainable. Kids bikes are the worst, often unable to last even one child. Early RIder's solution? Simple, a contrary design and manufacturing mandate: 'to sustain ability'.

To sustain the ability to inspire, child after child. To build bikes designed to last and to ensure children can reach the level of skill that make sure they'll always ride. In other words taking an uncompromising focus on form, function and top quality parts built to last.

To sustain the ability of all those involved in the production of our bikes to live healthy, fulfilled lives. In other words creating safe work environments, promoting employee wellness, supporting communities and upholding human rights through the entire supply chain.
