Meet The Team

Your Local Gold Coast Bike Experts

At Currumbin Cycles we’re all riders first. We love bikes, we love the local Gold Coast riding community and we look forward to helping people enjoy cycling the same way we do. With a wealth of experience in the biking industry, meet the crew you’ll see around the shop and out on the local trails.

Kane - Owner

Kane is the bloke who keeps the whole place running. Before taking over Currumbin Cycles in 2015, he spent years racing triathlons all over the world as a professional athlete. He’s got a huge amount of knowledge from those racing days and now uses it to help everyday riders get the most out of their bikes. If you’re chasing honest advice from someone who’s been there, he’s your guy.

Tink - Manager

Tink is old school in the best possible way. He started out as a BMX grom on the streets and grew into the all-round rider he is today. He’s been part of the local Gold Coast cycling scene for years and brings a genuine passion for bikes and community to the shop. Day-to-day, Tink keeps everything running smoothly and makes sure the place stays organised. When he’s not at the shop, you’ll find him out on the mountain bike trails, using riding as a way to stay fit and stay connected.

Ethan - Mechanic

Expertise: Mountain Bikes, Gravel Bikes, Road Bikes, Trek, SRAM

Ethan started riding with his dad and quickly ended up deep in mountain biking. He raced enduro for years and even won the South East Queensland Enduro National Titles. He joined the shop in 2020 and has become known for being the guy who can fix pretty much anything. Whether it’s a gravel setup or a modern MTB, Ethan treats every bike like it’s his own.

Guy - Mechanic

Expertise: Road Bikes, Vintage Bikes

Cycling is in Guy’s blood. His dad founded Mathiske Bikes and he’s been riding and racing since he was 12. After years of time-trial racing he now spends more time just enjoying mountain bike trails around the Gold Coast. Guy has been part of Currumbin Cycles for about five years and is our go-to for road bikes, vintage builds and anything that needs a careful, experienced touch.

Tim - Mechanic

Road Specialist

Tim got into riding as a kid simply to stay fit, then somehow ended up winning the Grafton to Inverell Cycle Classic — which says a lot about his dedication. These days he rides mostly for the fun of being outdoors and keeping active. Tim helps riders choose the right road bike and gives solid advice based on years of real experience.

Levi - Mechanic & Sales

Levi found cycling through school and has stuck with it ever since. A mountain biker at heart, he’s been with us for just over three years. Levi splits his time between the workshop and the sales floor, and is always happy to help riders figure out what they actually need without the upsell.
